Joe Hodge
I was first introduced to the sport of schutzhund while in the military in 2014, but it wasn’t until I met Shawn in 2019 that I became involved with the sport. I continue to participate in the sport for two reasons. The first is the three phases of protection, obedience and tracking provide different drive and arousal levels to work and understand the dog. The second is competing in any dog sport becomes an objective criteria to work towards and measure myself as a trainer & handler.

Schutzhound:
A steep learning curve.
A devoted companion.
A circle of steadfast, dedicated, committed friends.
Rose Short and Dyka
I love the sport because it's allowed me to bond with my dog in a way that regular behavior training would not have. Seeing Dyka's power and how much she enjoys the different areas of sport make me very happy.

Renne and Whiskey
I started in Shutzund in 2021 when I got Whiskey. I was hooked, this sport is amazing. I love the unique relationship it allows between me and my dog. We received out first BH in March of 2024. In my few years I have learned so much, but more importantly realized how little I truly know.
Samantha and Mazikeen
My journey into this sport began alongside my mom. I eagerly attended nearly every lesson and training session with her, hungry to absorb all I could. The moment I got my own dog, we formed an instant, unbreakable bond, and my passion for this sport soared. She is a year old and we are working on getting our BH within late 2024 or early 2025.
